A RestoreCord backup is a point-in-time snapshot of your Discord server's structure and content. Restoring rebuilds channels, roles, permissions and message history. Members and their roles come back in two separate steps afterwards.
What a backup covers
- +Categories and channels
- +Roles and permission overwrites
- +Server settings
- +Messages (plan-limited per channel)
- +Attachments (Business and Enterprise)
- +Emojis (optional toggle)
- −Members — pulled separately
- −Role assignments — restored separately
- −Voice/message activity and presence
- −Files over 8 MB
- −Channels the bot cannot read
- −Excluded channels you deselected
A snapshot is only as good as its last test. Discord rate limits, missing bot permissions and deleted source files all change the result — restore into a spare server before you need it for real.
Features
One-click backups
Every server card has a Create Backup button, sitting next to Manage and Pull Members. Attach a custom bot to the server and it lights up — the dialog then captures the whole server in one pass, with message depth, attachment mode, emojis and channel exclusions set per backup.
Snapshot previewer
Open any backup as a read-only Discord client and browse it exactly as it was captured — channels, categories, roles and real message history. It is how you confirm a recovery point is usable without restoring it first. Channels the bot could not read show a padlock rather than looking empty.
Snapshot captured before the permission redesign.
Roles and overwrites look right in the preview.
Backup completed — 42 channels, 18 roles, 6,300 messages.
Scheduling and pinning
Business and Enterprise can run backups hourly, daily, weekly or on set dates using your saved scope. Pin a known-good backup and scheduled rotation will never delete it — see pricing and limits.
Role restore
A restore recreates roles with new Discord IDs, so RestoreCord re-maps every member's assignments and holds them for 7 days. Pull your members back, then run Restore Roles to hand everyone their old roles at Discord-safe rates.
Recovery order
Secure owner, revoke access, rotate tokens
