The gap that decides it

Ask any owner who has been through a nuke what they lost. It is never the channels. Channel structure is an afternoon of work, and both tools can rebuild it. What ends communities is the member list: thousands of people who have no idea the server moved, no invite to the new one, and no reason to go looking.

Wick does not publish a member-recovery workflow, and it is not designed to. RestoreCord's member recovery exists specifically for this. Members authorize once during verification; if the server is later lost, RestoreCord can ask Discord to re-add every eligible member who granted that authorization beforehand.

The honest boundary: recovery only reaches members who authorized before the incident. It is a backup, and like every backup it has to be in place ahead of time. Someone who joined via a plain invite and never verified is not recoverable by anyone, including us.

Wick's heat system scores activity in real time and acts during an attack rather than after it. That timing difference is real and RestoreCord does not replicate it. Run both. Give Wick the live moderation layer — anti-nuke, heat, quarantine, lockdown. Give RestoreCord the entry and exit: verification with firewall rules on the way in, snapshots on a schedule, and member recovery held in reserve. Designate RestoreCord as the verification gate so every member passing through is recoverable later, and disable Wick's verification to avoid double-prompting.
