Bump timers are the most visible symptom. A ranking that decays every few hours does not measure community quality — it measures whether you have someone available to press a button at 4am. Small, well-run servers lose to mediocre ones with a rota.

- Ask at the right moment. Right after someone has had a good experience — an event, a solved problem, a helpful answer — not in a generic weekly ping.

- Finish the page. A banner, real description, and working links do more for conversion than a slightly higher position does.
- Tag accurately. Ranking well for a category you do not serve brings members who leave immediately.
- Add your products and socials. More reasons to click, and they surface in more places.
- Be patient. Reputation is slow by design. That is also why it is hard for anyone to fake past you.
Should you leave Disboard or Top.gg?
Probably not, and it would be dishonest to suggest otherwise. Those platforms have far more traffic today. The argument for Discovery is not volume, it is the shape of the effort: a review history you build once keeps ranking you, while a bump position has to be re-earned every few hours forever.
